Victory and podium for Hill
Victory and podium for Hill

Kent’s Jake Hill was back on the podium with a victory and a second place at Brands Hatch at the weekend.

Hill’s home round of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship saw the defending champion get his season up and running in earnest.

Having qualified on pole position for race one, Hill dominated the race from lights to flag to take his first victory of the 2025 season.

Race two looked like it was going to be a carbon copy of race one, but after a safety car for a crash between Max Hall and Dexter Patterson, and then a stricken Dan Cammish at the restart Hill struggled and slipped backwards rapidly finishing inside the top ten in 8th place.

Race three saw Hill pulled out for pole position for the reverse grid final race of the day. Hill slipped back to third at the start, but soon worked his way back up to second but he couldn’t do anything about his teammate Charles Rainford, and second he had to settle for.

Hill leaves Brands Hatch just ten points back from championship leader Tom Ingram as they head to Snetterton at the end of May.

Speaking at the end of a good weekend, Hill said: “What a weekend we’ve had. A win, a second, an eighth and a pole position on Saturday too. It’s been a mega, mega weekend.

“A huge thank you to everyone at WSR, Laser Tools and MB Motorsport; they’ve given me a Laser Beemer that was very, very fast. On to Snetterton…”
