Thrilling end to Ginetta series

The Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup and Michelin Ginetta Junior Championship served up a thrilling finale weekend at Brands Hatch, with five champions being crowned across the two series.

James Kellett has written his name into the record books alongside the likes of Tom Ingram, Adam Morgan and Harry King as the final overall champion in the Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup.

A hat-trick of second place finishes were more than enough to secure Kellett the G56 Pro title to sign off his record-breaking season, whilst Tom Emson and Aston Millar shared the last race wins in the championship.

Wes Pearce’s ultra-consistent campaign netted him the G56 Am crown, Luke Reade edged out Blake Angliss by just three points for G55 Pro honours, while Ian Duggan won G55 Am to become a double Ginetta champion.

Josh Rowledge wrapped up the Michelin Ginetta Junior Championship title with two races to spare with a brilliant podium finish in the Brands Hatch opener, making it two consecutive drivers’ crowns for the R Racing team.

2022 rookie champion Will Macintyre confirmed himself as the series runner-up with victory in the final race, while Liam McNeilly secured a second consecutive top three points finish with a long-awaited double victory.

A competitive weekend of action saw Aqil Alibhai, Luke Watts and Kanato Le join them in picking up overall podium finishes, as a packed grid of teenage racers thrilled the crowds on their last outing alongside the BTCC.
