Supercar heaven returns to Brands Hatch next weekend

Supercars will descend upon Kent’s Brands Hatch circuit when the international Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup returns to the UK, with a grid of the world’s most exotic high-performance racing cars.
The Blancpain GT Series is the world’s most competitive championship for supercars, with a grid including stunning models from Audi, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lexus and Mercedes. These mouth-watering cars will race around the legendary Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit on 5-6 May.

The series’ list of superstar entrants includes former F1 drivers Will Stevens and Christian Klien, plus long-time British Touring Car Championship competitor Aron Taylor-Smith, a previous winner on the Kent circuit’s famous longer layout.

In addition to Essex’s Stevens, there are a further six British drivers confirmed to be in action; Stuart Leonard, Joshua Caygill, Ian Loggie, Andrew Watson, Michael Meadows and Jack Manchester.

Two Blancpain races will claim the spotlight on the main raceday (Sunday), with each race lasting an hour, with pit stops, driver changes, and plenty of strategic drama.

Support action will continue the GT theme, with lower class sports cars competing in the GT4 European Series Northern Cup, alongside one-make races for Caterham and Porsche cars.

‘Hypercar Heaven’

Track action at this event will include high-speed demonstrations from some of the world’s rarest and most desirable hypercars. These cars are seldom seen pushed to their limits on a circuit! The list of appearing hypercars includes a Koenigsegg Agera and a Porsche 918.

All of the hypercars will be on display throughout main raceday, and they’ll be joined by an enormous selection of supercars, organised by the Supercar Siege in aid of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Children’s Fund.
