Stunning minis to star at Brands Hatch

MotorSport Vision (MSV), organisers and promoters of the inaugural Mini Festival at Brands Hatch, have announced a stunning line up of entertainment on and off circuit at the event on 16/17 June.

The hub of the action will be the world-famous Indy circuit, which plays host to 12 Mini races across the two days. Racing from the MINI Challenge, Mini Miglia, Mini Se7en and Pre-66 Minis series will cater for enthusiasts of both the classic and modern variants. There will also be a chance to settle the old score of which is better with a unique All-Comers race featuring both New and Classic models. An overall winner will be crowned in the ‘Champion of the Mini Festival’ race, which will bring the event at the Kent circuit to a close.

Support race action will be provided from the supercars of the GT Cup Championship and the Le Mans-style sportscars of the Radical UK Cup. The track will also play host to a series of parades from more than 30 Mini car clubs, demonstrations of world famous ‘iconic’ Minis and a stunt show from the legendary Russ Swift. One of the world’s most famous stunt drivers and a multiple world record holder, Russ will be performing an array of impressive manoeuvres behind the wheel of different Minis.

Away from the circuit a live action area will see further shows from Russ, plus ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ TV star John Evans – who will balance a genuine Mini on his head! Show and Shine competitions, live music events plus much more will be held in the live action area behind Pit Straight grandstand, whilst there will be a spectacular aerobatic air display on the Sunday too. A live music stage featuring highly rated acts The Higher State, Maker and Kent-based Groovy Uncle featuring Suzi Chunk will entertain long into the night on the Saturday.

Mini car clubs from across Europe will be displaying their finest vehicles all around the venue across the two days, whilst historic rally cars will be performing on the rally course at the circuit too.

For younger guests the Brands Hatch ‘Fun Zone’ will be operating with a fun fair, mini diggers and free face painting. Children aged 11-17 will also be able to sample driving a new MINI on closed off parts of the race circuit for just £30.

You can find more information on the dedicated Mini Festival website www.mini-festival.co.uk, including the latest timetable, venue map and details on all the activities confirmed so far across the weekend.
