Coco Streets’ blistering century gave Kent Women their first win of 2026.

A maiden century from Coco Streets, who made 108 in 97 balls spearheaded the Kent chase as they reached the target of 244 in the 42nd over for the loss of six wickets.

Derbyshire had two centurions in their innings with Rebecca Duckworth and Frances Lonsdale both reaching three figures as they made 243 – 6 from their 50 overs. Tight bowling from Amy Gordon, Sydney Gorham and Izzy Cloke kept the run rate at under 5 on what looked to be a flat pitch. But Streets’ quick century, ably supported by Maddie Blinkhorn-Jones made the run chase relatively straightforward for the home side.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Derbyshire Falcons soon found themselves under pressure as opener Emily Hughes was removed for a duck by Zeena Bilal, with Coco Streets taking a sharp, diving catch at extra cover.

The Falcons then spent time rebuilding with Rebecca Duckworth and Frances Lonsdale, who were both watchful for the first 10 overs.

The pair scored more fluently after the powerplay as they moved serenely to a 100-run partnership in the 23rd over with no major alarms for either batter, aside from Duckworth inside edging Zeena Bilal close to leg stump.

Both batters moved to 50 before the drinks interval.

After 25 overs, Derbyshire were well-set on 115-1 and looked like they were ready to pile on the runs on a docile pitch.

However, the run-rate remained at around 4.6 and never got above 5, with tight bowling from Amy Gordon and Izzy Cloke.

Duckworth reached her century from 133 balls in the 36th over with a pull through midwicket.

Kent made the breakthrough in the next over when Duckworth was caught at long-on by Zeena Bilal for 100.

Lauren Kenvyn announced herself at the crease immediately with a lofted 4 over Zeena Bilal in her first ball, but she was soon dismissed for 14 from 17 balls, caught at deep midwicket by Gordon from Belt’s bowling.

Lonsdale was given a life on 71 when Rachel King missed a stumping chance from James in the 41st over.

Gordon picked up two wickets in her spell after drinks. The first was Ria Fackrell who was caught behind for 4, then she clean bowled Adrianna Darlow for 5 a couple of overs later. She could have picked up a third wicket in her final over when Lonsdale was dropped at long-on by Bilal.

Sydney Gorham then picked up a wicket as Prisha Bedi was caught at mid-off by Kelly Castle for 8.

In the final over, Lonsdale, who had anchored the innings while wickets fell at the other end, was finally able to reach a deserved century with a drive down the ground. She ended on 103* while Matilda Atherton Gater reached 1* as Derbyshire made 243-6 from their 50 overs.

Kent’s reply got off to a blistering start as Coco Streets began aggressively, dealing mainly in boundaries, with Cloke played the supporting role as Kent reached their 50 in eight overs.

Cloke was caught in the ninth over, pulling a full-toss from Ria Fackrell to Lauren Kenvyn at mid-on for 8 runs.

The final over of the powerplay began with three consecutive fours from Streets: two through point and one through midwicket as she moved comfortably to 45.

The Falcons managed to slow the run-rate by bringing on spin at both ends with Fackrell and Darlow. This brought a wicket when Kelly Castle played a lofted shot towards midwicket and was caught by a backpedalling Kenvyn from Fackrell’s bowling.

Streets brought up her 50 at the end of the 14th over from 38 balls, including ten fours.

Kent brought up their 100 with consecutive cover drives from Streets at the start of the 17th over.

Maddie Blinkhorn-Jones provided good support to Streets, rotating the strike and taking any boundaries on offer as the pair brought up their 50 partnership in the 20th over.

At drinks, Kent were 151-2 from 25 overs, needing 93 to win.

The Falcons got a breakthrough in the second over after drinks when Blinkhorn-Jones attempted a pull shot and was clean bowled for 40 by Rhiannon Knowling-Davies.

One ball later, Amy Gordon poked a drive straight to cover for a golden duck.

Elsa Barnfather played a brief cameo, hitting the first six of the match as she lofted Darlow over long-on, but eventually being stumped off Darlow’s bowling for 17.

With the required run-rate hovering around 3, but Kent five wickets down, the home side appeared to be closer to victory, but the wicket of Streets would give the Falcons a real chance.

Streets brought up her maiden century in the 32nd over with a shot to deep cover. It came from 80 balls, including 17 fours.

With Kent still needing 26 runs to win, Streets was eventually dismissed for 108 from 97 balls. She tried to loft a shot over the covers but was caught by Fackrell from Olivia Baker’s bowling.

Bilal and King calmed the home fans’ nerves as they batted steadily to reach the target in the 42nd over. Rachel King scored the winning runs with a lofted six over long-off to end on 35*, with Bilal on 12*.

The win is Kent’s first of 2026, while Derbyshire are still winless from their first two fixtures.

Coco Streets reacted to the win and her century. She said: “It was such a nice pitch to play on today.”

“I worked really hard on my technique all winter. Hopefully I can keep the good form going.”

On Gorham and Cloke. “They both bowled really well, not going for many runs and the fielders backed them up really well.”

“The partnership with Maddie really calmed me. She stayed so cool and collected.”

“They bowled really well in the middle section.”
