Ray reflects on home round

It was a challenging home round for Brad Ray at the weekend at Brands Hatch in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

Ray has been reflecting after a weekend that saw him take a first race win around the iconic GP circuit. It also saw him not finish a race for the first time this season, and also finish off the podium as well for the first time this season.

Although as he has been saying after the race there was a slight issue in race three that impacted him being able to challenge for the win having lead the opening stages of the race.

Overall though heading into Thruxton, Ray still leads the championship by 38 points and he will be looking to stamp his authority back on the series.

Giving his thoughts on the weekend, Ray said: “All-in-all it was a positive weekend despite the negative of the DNF in Race 2. It was nice to come to Brands and take the step and be able to qualify strong and have good pace throughout the races.

“I made a mistake in Race 2 which led to a crash and honestly really annoyed me, but it is what it is and we were able to regroup to 4th in Race 3 despite a few little issues. Can’t grumble with a win and a fourth and the crash is all a part of racing.”
