NASCAR Vice President of Regional and Touring Series, George Silbermann, has praised MotorSport Vision (MSV) for the launch of the Brands Hatch American SpeedFest.Nascar2

Silbermann has also confirmed he will attend the event at the Kent circuit on Sunday 9 June.

Mr Silbermann is one of the leading figures in NASCAR in America and has been championing the cause for USA’s leading motorsport series to race in Europe. The launch of the American SpeedFest at Brands Hatch, headlined by Euro Racecar NASCAR Touring Series, has certainly struck a chord across the Atlantic and is the first step for NASCAR’s expansion into Europe, according to the esteemed NASCAR official.

Despite the event being several months away, Silbermann is already looking forward to the inaugural SpeedFest and is throwing his weight and support behind it.

NASCAR Employee HeadshotsHe said: “It doesn’t matter which side of the Atlantic you are on, when you hear the name Brands Hatch you think of a race track steeped in history. Once upon a time ago half a century ago NASCAR spec stock cars competed in the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch with drivers such as Jack Brabham, Jim Clark and a young American called Dan Gurney. This year thundering V8s are back at Brands Hatch with the Euro Racecar NASCAR Touring Series being part of the inaugural Brands Hatch SpeedFest.

“NASCAR is very proud of the Euro Racecar NASCAR Touring Series as this is serious stock car racing with beating and banging no quarter given action. The American SpeedFest has something that will appeal to almost everyone. Thanks have to go to MotorSport Vision and Jonathan Palmer along with Euro Racecar’s Jerome and Anne Galpin for putting this event together. NASCAR is very honoured to be a part of the American SpeedFest and I hope to see you there.”

The American SpeedFest is a brand new event for the 2013 season at the Kent circuit which will celebrate all things American. The circuit will be transformed into a scene from Daytona, with the popular V8 monsters of the Euro Racecar NASCAR Touring Series headlining a superb line up of American-derived motorsport. There will also be a host of US themed events located around the circuit including stunning Monster Truck demonstrations, huge collections of classic American cars, barbecue competitions, live music and plenty of family oriented fun.Nascar3
