Heroes All – available now!

Tunbridge Wells fans can now lay their hands on a limited edition book of their trip to Wembley with the proceeds going to charity.Print

Of course there have been other Kent clubs who have been to Wembley Finals.

Some have even gloriously won – the Gills in two different Play Off Finals; the Fleet in the FA Trophy, and of course it was all started by Deal Town back in 2000 when Roly Graham’s wonder goal won the FA Vase for Tommy Sampson’s side.

Move forward 13 years – Saturday 4th May 2013 under the Wembley Arch…

It’s a date and monumental venue that will be forever remembered in the annuls of Kent footballing history – it was a day when fifteen dressed in red and white – and one looking like a wasp in bright canary yellow and black – came so very very close to pulling off one of the biggest upsets seen at the national stadium since it was rebuilt – they really were “HEROES ALL!”

And to mark the heroic efforts of Martin Larkin and his Tunbridge Wells players in reaching the 2013 FA Carlsberg Vase Final, KSN commissioned a review of the great day and that publication is now available to pre order.

“HEROES ALL” tells the story of the day that the Wells went to Wembley through the eyes of those who made it happen – the players and management themselves – along with Kent FA Chairman Barry Bright, and Karen Millen OBE – fashion designer, patron of the Teens Unite cancer charity, and of course Mum to Josh Stanford whose goal brought such joy to over 11,000 Kent football fans who made the pilgrimage…

PrintHEROES ALL!!! will be available from every single non league club around Kent in the next two weeks and will cost £5.00 for 68 pages of memories and some wonderful photographs taken on the day by our professional team.  And we are delighted to announce that for every copy sold, KSN will donate £2.00 to charity with £1.00 going to Teens Unite with the other going to Demelza Hospice Care for Children.

Heroes All3Copies will be first available at the 20/20 Charity Cricket match at the Leeds and Broomfield Cricket Club on Wednesday 14th August, before the “official launch” which will take place at Tunbridge Wells’ home game on Tuesday 20th August in the Southern Counties East Football League against Beckenham Town.

(Contingency plans have been made to move the launch date to August Bank Holiday Monday if FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round replays cause the game on the 20th to be postponed).

However, you can pre-order your copy now by emailing [email protected] who will reserve your copy.

This is a limited edition book and we anticipate the copies to sell quickly, so make sure you get yours before they sell out – we’d hate to disappoint anyone.

If you’d like us to send you a copy, send a cheque for £6 for each one (to cover P&P) made payable to Kent Sports News and send it to:
