Glow in the Park returns to Kent

Glow in the Park is set to return to Kent Showground for its 2nd annual 5km fun run, working alongside Kent Sports Trust as its charity partner.

The event will take place at Kent Showground on the evening of 28th April from 8.15pm with exhilarating glow zones on route, mixed in with neon, electrifying light shows and energising beats for an ultimate party night in the dark. Entrants, who can register for the event online now, are encouraged to walk, dance or run around the 5k course to raise money for Kent Sports Trust.

Ben Mason, Event Director, said: “It’s great to be back in Kent Showground again, supporting a charity that offers a lot of support within the local area.

“Glow in the Park has become a great success across the UK, enabling us to offer even more of a Glow experience year on year at iconic venues like Kent Showground. We have created a fun night out, with a lot more than just running, as we encourage everyone to dress up in bright UV clothes and make-up to party the night away!

“We’re excited to announce that we’ve added more glow zones to explore in 2018 and will also be awarding all our participants with medals.”

Kent Sports Trust is a charitable organisation devoted to changing lives through sport in Kent.

Established in 2016, they are passionate about helping everyone to achieve their potential through being active and participating in sport.

Their aim is to encourage participation and inspire everyone to become active through events and work within the community.

CEO of Kent Sports Trust, Steve Wolfe, is urging everyone to take part in Glow in the Park and raise funds that will help the people of Kent to get active:

“Every penny we raise in Kent is spent on the people of Kent. From projects that help the inactive get active for the first time, to supporting school kids fulfil their dreams, we look to use the money we raise to help those that are less fortunate in society.”

“Hopefully everyone that takes part in Glow in the Park will have a great time being active themselves, but will also think of how their run will support others in the county.”

Glow in the Park has added two zones to its courses for 2018. The popular retro disco zone, time tunnel, paint blast, lazer and hot zone will return with the addition of a symphony zone and electric forest. Plus, the iconic foam party will both start and finish the run as well as greet participants halfway around the course.

To enter, go to: glowinthepark.co.uk. Enter before 1st March to receive the Super Saver Early Bird discount and save up to 30%. All money raised in sponsorship will be donated to Kent Sports Trust, sponsorship forms supplied with entry.

Glow in the Park is suitable for all abilities, from athletes and novice runners to a group of friends or a family (with children of age 6+, please see T&C’s).
