This weekend the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship returns to Brands Hatch for the first time this season, as they hit the Indy Circuit for some lively racing.

The BTCC arrives at the Kent circuit for the second round of the season and for the first time with the new Race to Pole qualifying format. With the tweak to the format, there is even more racing than before with the additional Saturday race.
Of course there will still be Sunday’s customary triple-header, featuring cars from Ford, Hyundai, Toyota, BMW, Audi, plus the new Jason Plato backed Mercedes and more.
Drivers to watch out for will include reigning champion Tom Ingram, who was super-fast during the season opener, and four-time title winner Ash Sutton, who leads the standings heading into Brands Hatch.

Plus there are headline grabbing new additions to the grid in the shape of Plato Racing, with its Mercedes, and Power Maxed Racing’s Audi.
Recently the Brands Hatch Indy circuit has arguably favoured rear-wheel-drive machinery, but the championship-order boost levels and newly introduced Qualifying Race are set to provide an updated variable in comparison to previous years.
Despite the recent rear-wheel-drive success at the circuit, it is reigning champion Ingram who arrives with the most triumphs at the Kent venue with four wins, all in front-wheel-drive machinery. The #80 will be looking to regather some points after a challenging opening race weekend.

The headline BTCC action will be complemented by a full support race line-up, including Porsche Carrera Cup GB, MINI CHALLENGE and the Caterham Seven Championship and whilst there is no Kent interest in the main series following the departure of Jake Hill and Un-Limited Motorsport there is plenty of interest in the support series.
