Young and Hungry

Conor Gallagher comes from a family of Chelsea fanatics, and lives just ten minutes away from their Cobham training base.

Josh Cullen comes from a family of West Ham fans. Neither player has made any secret of their desire to play for their boyhood club but it has not stopped them giving the Addicks 100% commitment in every game they play.

Gallagher is the golden boy right now. Non-stop energy, good looks, and a thunderous shot are just some of the assets he has in his armoury. It is now difficult to believe that he had not played a league game before he arrived at The Valley in August.

But Cullen is no less important to the team. He knits everything together and runs the game from midfield.

He possesses an ice cool temperament, as personified by how he refused to be fazed while waiting to take the penalty at West Bromwich on Saturday.

The duo’s outstanding form has raised concerns about whether their parent clubs might recall them in January. It seems a real possibility with Cullen as the Hammers could do with a midfield spark.

Gallagher seems more likely to stay at The Valley. Chelsea are delighted with his progress under Bowyer, and do not think he is yet ready for a regular first team spot at Stamford Bridge.

But another half season of turning in performances reminiscent o‎f Bryan Robson in his prime, would surely see him force his way into the picture at Chelsea.

They may be young, but they are hungry and giving everything to the cause in SE7.
