On Wednesday evening Erith and Belvedere travel to Woodford Town in the London Senior Cup second round.

Currently in eighth place, in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division, the Deres are just four points adrift of the play-offs, although they have played more games than some of the clubs around them.
On Saturday they were also in knock-out action when visiting Sporting Club Thamesmead in the Kent Senior Trophy. Ladic Melconian put the Deres ahead nine minutes before the break and Thomas Borders added a second in first half stoppage time. Eight minutes into the second period, Matthias Broomes all but put the tie to bed and Wale Odedoyin’s last minute goal for the hosts was no more than a consolation.
Essex Senior League Woodford Town are in fourth place in the table having collected thirty points from sixteen matches. They are four points behind leaders Little Oakley although they have played a game more.
Their last game was on Friday evening when they suffered a dent to their championship ambitions. They hosted Saffron Walden Town and were one-nil down before Pedro Carvalho equalised just before half time. Three goals in an eleven minute spell in the second period ensured that the visitors claimed the win that moved them to within a point of Woodford.
Although the London Senior Cup may not be top priority for the two clubs, an opportunity to play an AFC Wimbledon XI in the third round is an incentive for them both.
