On Tuesday evening, Welling United entertain Potters Bar Town in another big Isthmian League Premier Division match.

After the Wings’ victory on Saturday, combined with results elsewhere, a win against Potters Bar would all but ensure a finish for Welling above the bottom four.
Their two-nil triumph against Dulwich Hamlet took them to seventeenth place in the table. The match was goal-less until nearly an hour had been played. Captain Dean Gunner then gave them the lead by heading home Sam Smith’s corner.
Soon after, Welling added a second when Lekan Majoyegbe recycled Zak O’Keefe’s long throw. Although Troy Howard’s initial header came back out off the bar, he followed up to nod it into the bottom corner.

Meanwhile, Potters Bar’s seven year stint at step three was confirmed to be over when they lost one-nil at home to Chichester City. The only goal came on the hour mark when James Wild’s volley flew into the back of the net.
When Welling visited Potters Bar in mid-March, they won the hard way. Majoyegbe put the Wings ahead four minutes before half time and when a Smith special put them two up five minutes into the second period, it looked like it was job done.
However, the Scholars had other ideas. Damaray Anyadike pulled one back in the sixty-sixth minute before Brandon Adams levelled with eight minutes remaining. One minute later, the Wings went back when Jamie Reynolds fired home and, this time, there was no way back for the hosts.

Maxwell will be monitoring the fitness of his players but will be hopeful that all are fit. After Welling went two up against Dulwich, Maxwell withdrew Howard as a precaution.
He said: “He’s young, he recovers well does Troy and we took him off. It’s not as if he went off injured. I think we saw in the boy who came on there, Oliver (Reeve), a really good player there. Our squad is strong, physically, mentally and ability wise so we will play the hand we’re dealt with when Tuesday comes.”
One player who should be available for selection after missing out through suspension is Olu Oluwatimilehin. That gives Maxwell another option should any of his midfield players not be fit enough to start.
