Welling to host charity game

Park View Road, Welling hosts a charity game in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity on Saturday 22nd  May kick off 15:00.

Goldsmith United vets play Stansfeld vets for the Dyer-Oldfield Trophy in memory of Barry Albin-Dyer and Derek Oldfield who both died of brain tumours at the young age of 64.

Their sons, Simon Dyer and Derek Oldfield, were team-mates in successful Sunday League side Goldsmith’s United and decided to host an annual football match to raise awareness and funds for the charity. Both also played for Stansfeld at some point, hence their involvement.

A fully licensed bar and food will be available all afternoon and there will also be an ice cream van in attendance. A bouncy castle for children will be available on the pitch after the game.

Admittance is free as but any donations will be gladly accepted and there will be a bar open for all spectators before, during and after the game.
