Welling United have added to their defensive options by announcing the signing of AFC Wimbledon centre half Fraser Franks on a one-year contract.

Franks, who is 21, was part of AFC Wimbledon’s Conference Premier Promotion Play-Off-winning squad and has also appeared on loan for Hayes & Yeading United and Newport County.

A tall centre half, Franks was previously at Chelsea and Brentford as a youth.

Franks becomes the Wings latest signing and follows strikers Jon Main and Kiernan Hughes-Mason in moving to Park View Road with Luis Cumbers and Anthony Acheampong also agreeing new deals with the Blue Square Bet South club.
