Welling appoint caretaker management team

Following a difficult first four months of the season, Mark Goldberg handed the managerial reins to Jamie Day with Ady Pennock given a role as football consultant.

Results picked up immediately and he recorded six wins in six games. Two in the F.A. Trophy and four in the Vanarama National South. Those twelve points have taken them out of the relegation zone, but still in peril as they are only two points above the drop zone.

However, things took a turn for the worst for Welling when Justin Edinburgh was ousted at Gillingham and Pennock was appointed Head Coach at Priestfield, Day and Steve Lovell, the Bromley assistant manager, were offered and accepted roles as first team coaches.

Now the Wings travel to Hemel Hempstead on Saturday looking to extend their winning run with a different management team in the dugout.

Tristan Lewis (from Hayes and Yeading United) and Day’s Assistant Manager, Harry Wheeler, have been appointed as the joint caretaker management team.
