In only his second race in the World Supersport Championship Danny Webb came home in 18th place on his PTR Honda.Danny Webb - PTR Honda

Webb who has made the switch from Moto 3 to World Supersport in the later part of the season, is certainly showing that he is getting to know his new team and his new bike.

Round 11 of the Championship headed to Istanbul in Turkey as part of the World Superbikes supporting racing. Danny came close in the race to netting his first points in the new series and posted his fastest lap to date in the race itself.

Speaking after the race itself, Webb said: “Yes, I am getting faster. I was a bit wound up with myself as I lost three seconds on one lap when I didn’t let the clutch out enough between corners.

“I was in the battle for points and we closed the gap to the front from Nurburgring. We have definitely made a step and I am more and more comfortable on my PTR Honda.

“In Magny Cours it will feel more natural and I want to make the next step. We are not too far away and are making good progression, which is just what we needed and planned. I just need a bit more time on the 600.”Danny Webb - PTR Honda 1

Webb’s teammates Luca Marconi came home in 20th enjoying a consistent race and was followed home by Nacho Calero in 21st, who lapped a whole second faster in the race than qualifying and is in good form approaching the end of the season.

In his first race for PTR Honda, David Mcfadden continued his progress, eclipsing his qualifying time in the race and taking a decent 24th. Damian Cudlin, standing in for regular rider Matt Davies who is at home in Australia, retired after three laps.

Simon Buckmaster, PTR Honda Team Manager spoke after the race on Webb’s performance, he said: “Danny is showing good progress – he is understanding his PTR Honda more and there is more to come from him.

The Championship now packs up and moves a little bit closer to home as France and the circuit at Magny Cours on Sunday 6th October.
