Jake Hill had his best weekend in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship last weekend.

A win, a second and a top ten finish meant that Hill roared into the title fight, and is now just 29 points behind championship leader Ash Sutton.

In race one, Jake had a fantastic race with Aiden Moffat and they battled pretty much from lights to flag, but Hill couldn’t just find a way past him, as he settled for second place and an impressive points haul.

In race two however, Hill hit the front with an excellent move on Moffat from P2 on the grid. Then when the safety car was deployed, they all closed up on Hill.

However, after the restart he managed to build a five second lead with everyone else squabbling behind him for the remaining podium places, he crossed the line for the biggest winning margin of the season.

Race three saw Hill bring home another impressive points haul, this time finishing in seventh place, having had full success ballast on for the entire race.

Speaking after an excellent weekend, Hill said: “Get in there! I’m absolutely delighted to get the win and a huge amount of credit goes to the MB Motorsport and Motorbase squad – the car was absolutely faultless, even with the weight.

“The tyres stayed with me right until the end and it’s just a massive thank you to all the team. Overall, it’s been a fantastic weekend – we’ve done just about all we can, clawed back some ground in the Championship fight and pulled ourselves up to second in the standings.

“That’s what we are going to have to do with every remaining round but we are properly in the fight and it feels like the momentum is building.”
