On Tuesday evening VCD Athletic host Ebbsfleet United in a hastily organised Kent Senior Cup quarter final.

Although the Vickers were due to play an Isthmian League South East game against Beckenham Town, the Kent FA decreed that the cup tie should take priority so the league encounter will have to be rearranged.
To get to this stage, VCD, have already defeated two Isthmian League Premier Divisions. In the first round they negotiated a tough game at home to Folkestone Invicta. Bivesh Gurung put a young Invicta side ahead in the second half but VCD took it to penalties with a last minute deflected goal by Lee Bird. After each side scored their first five, the visitors missed and Michael Fenn scored the winner.
They then hosted holders Welling United and went ahead early on through Harry Sargent. Ollie Freeman scored a second before Scott Simmons pulled one back in first half stoppage time. Harry Lawrence restored the Vickers’ two goal advantage with fifteen minutes remaining and even though John Ufuah scored for the Wings two minutes later, the hosts held on to progress.
It has been an easier route for Ebbsfleet. They had a bye in the first round before travelling to Cray Valley PM. After a tight thirty-five minutes, the Fleet scored three times in eight minutes through Charlie Seaman, George Moncur and Dom Samuel. Matty Vigar reduced the arrears for the Millers with fifteen minutes remaining but Aaron Cosgrave put the icing on the cake for last season’s runners ups with a goal three minutes from time.
Whoever wins will have a long wait to see who they play in the semi finals as there is still one second round tie outstanding, and the other two quarter finals are scheduled to be contested in December.
