EHA Racing will again undertake a two-pronged ‘turquoise assault’ on the British Supersport Championship in 2018 with David Allingham and Kent’s Ross Twyman.
Both riders will remain in the EHA Racing set up for a third consecutive season in the class, with aspirations of championship success – having finished fourth and sixth respectively in last year’s middleweight British series.
Allingham, who recently celebrated his twenty-third birthday, has taken fourth place in the British Supersport class this past two seasons, and with 10 podiums in the same period, the Eglinton based Irish rider, has only one goal on his mind this year.
David Allingham said: “I’m really happy to be going again with EHA Racing, and after two good seasons in the class, we really need to focus on a solid championship campaign in 2018. Last season I was in the running at the sharp end and was a little disappointed to end up fourth overall, but I’ve learned a lot and know what is needed to do the job.”
“The goal is to get that first win out of the way early on, as I know that will bring the confidence we need to get a run going, and the team has also learned from a few little set-up issues we had last year – which should also see us make good progress. The plan now is to finish off with a good month to six weeks of training; combine that with some testing and arrive at Donington Park ready to challenge at the sharp end at Easter.”
Ross Twyman finished sixth in last season’s British Supersport Championship, and under the guidance of EHA Racing and chief technical director Adrian Gorst, the 22-year-old is looking to be a regular podium contender alongside his flame-haired team-mate.
Ross Twyman said: “I’m looking forward to getting back on track as December and January, we are in limbo mode. With another year’s experience under my belt, it’s time to make my own luck in the class and put that all to good use. With the support of the EHA Racing team I know we can hit the ground running.”
“Last season it took a while to get the new Yamaha where we needed it to be; but we can now use that as a stepping stone and start challenging at the front. I feel I’ve served my apprenticeship now in the class, so I’m looking forward to having a real go this season with EHA Racing.”
