Wins for Sandwich Town and Tunbridge Wells ensured that they remained the only two unbeaten teams in the Kent League Premier Division.

Victory over third placed Bexley meant that Sandwich maintained their one point advantage at the top. Although they were held to 179, they bowled out their visitors for just 90.

Alex Smith’s 51 and Tony Burnap with 41 were the top scorers for Sandwich while Ryan Cartwright bowled his ten overs straight through taking 1 for 9 and his opening partner Jas Singh claimed 5 for 28 over two spells.

However, no Bexley batsman scored more than 20 and Smith followed up his half century with 3 for 24. There were also three wicket hauls for Matthew Poppel (3 for 7) and Ben Smith (3 for 20).

Tunbridge Wells racked up 315 for 9 in their fifty overs at Blackheath. Chris Williams scored 124 and Sam Stickler 60.

Tanweer Sikander claimed 3 for 40 from his ten overs. In reply, Blackheath were dismissed for 210 with Rishi Roy-Mukherjee striking 74. Christian Davis took 3 for 25 for the league title challengers.

Fourth placed Lordswood were bowled out for 194 at basement club Bromley whose Martel Evans took 5-42. Joseph Mitchell top scored with 65 and Callum McLeod weighed in with 39. Tom Davis with 3 for 19 and Taylor Chandler’s 3 for 28 kept Bromley at bay and it was only a lusty 27 not out from 21 balls by tail-ender Jameel Mulla that took Bromley over the hundred mark, eventually being bowled out for 109.

Sevenoaks Vine had a relatively comfortable six wicket victory at home to Beckenham, overhauling the visitors 215 for 7 with over five overs remaining. Alexander Senn top scored with 50 for the visitors supported by Johan Malcolm 42. The seven wickets were shared out with the best figures being recorded by Andrew Reid-Dick who took 2 for 28 in his ten tight overs.

After Harry Houillon had scored 43, Luke Schlemmer, 71 not out and Michael Barber, 54, put on 115.together to ease the hosts towards eighteen points.

In the other game, second from bottom Bickley Park won at home to Holmesdale in the tightest finish of the day. That closed the gap to eleven points between the two teams. The visitors posted 213 for 5 in their 50 overs but Bickley chased the total down with eight balls and three wickets to spare.

Matthew Patrick has a good day taking 3 for 35 to keep Holmesdale in check. Luke Blackaby hit 56 not out at almost a run a ball after Anthony Bissett with 52 and Will Harby. 41, had put on 81 for the second wicket. In response Patrick hit an important 41 to support Elliot Hooper who top scored with 50. Ranjit Singh’s 44 was the other major contributions as Bickley Park eased home.
