Two firsts for Kent’s Canterbury week
Two firsts for Kent’s Canterbury week

Kent Cricket have shared details of the 174th Canterbury Cricket Week, the oldest surviving cricket festival in the world with two firsts for fans to enjoy.

Canterbury Cricket Week in 2026 will begin with Kent Men’s Rothesay County Championship fixture at home to Middlesex from Friday 19th June, before two Men’s Vitality Blast matches: Kent Spitfires’ first ever Crossover Match against Notts Outlaws on Friday 26th June, and Kent Spitfires vs. Hampshire Hawks on Sunday 28th June.

Kent Women will once again be an integral part of Canterbury Cricket Week – Sunday 28th June is one of two Vitality Blast Double Headers at the St Lawrence Ground this Summer, with the Horses taking on Northamptonshire Steelbacks Women before Spitfires vs. Hawks.

This will be the first ever Kent Men & Women Double Header to take place during ‘Canterbury Week’.

Alongside the other traditions associated with Canterbury Cricket Week, the Kent Cricket Foundation’s Schools’ Day Out will take place on the opening day of the festival, with over 1,000 local schoolchildren given a free taste of County Championship cricket in the height of Summer.

All valid 2026 Kent Members will receive two additional complimentary tickets for friends and family to enjoy one day of Kent vs. Middlesex in their Membership packs for the 2026 season, which will be posted in the coming weeks or available for collection at Member Card Collection Day at the St Lawrence Ground on Tuesday 10 February.

2026 Kent Cricket Memberships are available to purchase now at a special early bird price until 31st January 2026 and includes entry to ALL scheduled Kent Cricket matches this season. Membership is your ‘season ticket’ to watch Kent in Vitality Blast, Metro Bank One Day Cup & Rothesay County Championship action this coming Summer.

Kent Cricket’s Acting CEO, Nimmo Reid, said: “We are all proud to be the custodians of one of county cricket’s most long-standing traditions and Canterbury Cricket Week in 2026 will once again be incorporating showpiece fixtures from our exciting Summer schedule.

“The visit of Notts Outlaws to Canterbury will be the first T20 meeting between these two sides at the St Lawrence Ground in our history – there has been a lot of interest in our Crossover Matches already heading into 2026.

“We are also excited to incorporate Kent Women once more into the festival – our T20 Double Header last season against Middlesex saw a record home attendance for a Kent Women fixture, and we hope that this can be beaten again this Summer as part of Canterbury Week.”
