Triple signing for Bromley

Bromley announced their first summer signing yesterday and today they have followed that up with a hattrick of new players.

First up was goalkeeper Shamal George this morning, that was then followed up with midfielder Jacob Mendy this afternoon. The trio was then completed by Chanse Headman who arrived for an undisclosed fee.

Goalkeeper George arrived on a free transfer following his departure from fellow Sky Bet League One side Wycombe Wanderers.

The 28-year-old began his career at Liverpool where he featured as a striker for Jurgen Klopp’s side in a pre-season friendly against Huddersfield Town.

The former Reds youngster embarked on loan spells at Carlisle United, Tranmere Rovers and Marine before penning a permanent deal with League Two Colchester United.

During his time with the Essex outfit, he won their 2021-22 Player of the Year award before swapping England for Scotland, signing for top flight Livingston.

After two years with the Lions, the shot-stopper returned to the EFL when signing for Wycombe Wanderers.

George then spent a season on loan at St Mirren where he helped his side win the Scottish League Cup after a 3-1 win over Celtic.

Experienced winger Mendy on a free transfer following his departure from Peterborough United was the Ravens second signing of the day.

He was born in Gambia, began his footballing career in Spain as a youngster for Parla and Atletico Casarrubuelos before joining Atletico Madrid C in 2015. He then made the switch to Puerta Bonita later that year before making the move to England, signing for Redhill where he bagged 13 goals in 40 games before making the step up to Carshalton Athletic.

After impressing with the Robins, he continued to progress up the non-league ladder by joining then-National League South side Wealdstone, helping them to promotion to the fifth tier before moving on to Boreham Wood.

Wrexham was his next destination where he enjoyed back-to-back promotions from the National League to League One.

After featuring four times in the third tier for the Welsh side, he signed for Peterborough United, initially on loan, before making it permanent earlier this year.

They ended the day with defender Headman from Harrogate Town for an undisclosed fee, subject to FA and EFL approval.

The 21-year-old, who played for sides such as Sutton United, Leatherhead and Walton & Hersham at academy level, made the move to Brentford where he played for their B team.

Last season, he spent a month on loan at National League South side Maidenhead United before signing for then-League Two side Harrogate Town.
