Brad Ray got his 2026 British Superbike Championship season underway with a trio of podium finishes at Oulton Park.

Ray took third place in all three races in the opening round of the season, and it was a solid start for the McAMS Yamaha rider, and gives him a solid foundation as the season moves on.
It was a familiar trio fighting it out for the podium spots in all three races over the bank holiday weekend. With Kyle Ryde, Leon Haslam and Ray all resuming the battle that saw them finish the top three in the championship in 2025.
It was Ryde who took all three wins across the weekend, but the two on Sunday were far less dominant the six seconds win on Saturday afternoon. Ray and Haslam had a good scrap for the second place spot on both Saturday and the sprint race on Sunday.

The final race of the weekend did see Ray get the hole shot into the first corner and lead for the opening seven laps, but the Ducati’s with their slight horsepower advantage reeled him in.
After that he and Haslam battled well with Ryde for the majority of the race before having to settle for the same positions again.
The season now heads to Donington Park in two weeks time with Ray looking to close the gap to Ryde, as he sits in third place in the championship.
Speaking after the race weekend, Ray said: “I can’t complain about that weekend – we made a really good step forward from Sunday’s race into Monday. The boys put in a great shift getting the bike to a point where it could consistently clock 1:33s, keep up with the pace up front and be in the fight for the win.

“The pace is there and I left nothing out on the track. To come away with three third-place finishes is a solid result. We gave it everything, but we just didn’t quite have the pace in the closing stages of the races.
“We head to Donington Park in good spirits, and hopefully we can close the gap a little more there.”
