Torquay United v Bromley preview

After travelling up to the north east last weekend Bromley now travel down to the south west on Saturday when they make the trip to Devon to face Torquay Utd in The National League.

The Ravens won through to the third round of the FA Trophy at Blyth Spartans with an impressive 4-1 victory setting up another northern trip to Workington in the last sixteen, but it’s back to league action this week.

Neil Smith’s men are poised just below the play off spots with 44 points from 29 matches and have been boosted by the fine goal scoring form of Louis Dennis who hit another two last Saturday.

Torquay have had a difficult season at the bottom of the table picking up 20 points from 29 played, having already changed manager in the Autumn with Gary Owers taking charge.

When the teams met at Hayes Lane in September a Brett Williams hat-trick against his former side helped The Ravens to a 3-1 win.

The Gulls recent form has seen them lose all of their games so far in 2018, they did draw 1-1 with Eastleigh on Boxing Day, but last weekend the lost 3-1 to The Spitfires in the return game.

With Torquay eleven points off safety they will need to turn things around soon to avoid dropping into the National League South, while Bromley will see this as an opportunity to stay sloe to the top seven.
