It was a top ten finish for Jake Dixon in Indonesia in sweltering conditions last weekend in Moto2.

Dixon qualified in the top ten in eighth place, placing him nicely to push forward for the podium.
He got away well but when he made a mistake under braking into turn 14 it dropped him down to ninth.
From there the rider from Dover struggled to feel comfortable in the track’s numerous braking zones and came home 10th, 15s back of victor Diogo Moreira.
A post-race disqualification for Manuel Gonzalez moved Jake up into ninth place. The result sees Jake maintain fifth in the championship standings with 179 points.

Speaking after the weekend, a disappointed Dixon said: “Tenth isn’t the result we were expecting and it’s nothing to write home about. I gave my absolute everything. But I just didn’t have a great feeling when I was trying to stop the bike today. I tried to make progress early on but the speed just wasn’t there.
“I gave it my best shot and didn’t really have much more to give. There’s not much more to say. It’s a shame as I was hoping we’d be fighting higher up today. We’ll reset now, go again and see what we can do in the next race in Australia.”
