Tonbridge’s four match unbeaten record came to an end as Leiston took the honours with a performance that got better as the game wore.

Tonbridge started the game well as in the 4^th minute a corner to the back post found Jerome Sobers but his header went wide. Tonbridge continued to dominate the game with some slick passing without causing too many problems to Leiston then in 22^nd minute Leiston took the lead against the run of play when Michael Brothers on the right wing crossed to the back post for his brother Patrick who shot home to stun the home crowd.

Tonbridge then did what every team should do by scoring straight away & in the 23^rd minute Tommy Whitnell on the left received the ball & his first time cross found Alex Teniola whose bullet header from 8 yards hit the back of the net. The rest of the half was pretty even but Leiston were starting to get into the game.

The second half started & finished with Leiston in control with Tonbridge relying on counter attacks. In the 58^th minute Leiston should have taken the lead when Patrick Brothers on the left saw his cross into the area dropped by Kyle Mason to the feet of Nwachuka Nnamoi but from 8 yards he blasted it over the bar & stand.

Two minutes later another chance came when Patrick Brothers on the left received the ball 20 yards out on his own but his shot went over the bar.  Leiston finally took the lead but it took a mistake by Merson to gift them it when a corner into the area saw Merson flap at it & the ball came to Michael Brothers who shot home from 6 yards.

It could have been three in the 75^th minute when Patrick Brother on the left knocked it forward for Nnamoi in the area & he turned but shot weakly enabling Merson to save it easily.

Tonbridge huffed & Puffed for the rest of the game but could not force an equaliser & when the final whistle went everybody could see that the best team had won.
