Tonbridge Angels 0-1 Dartford
Tonbridge Angels 0-1 Dartford

This was a Kent derby that seemed to have no passion and quality and showed that in this Division apart from Ebbsfleet everyone can beat anyone.

Dartford qualified for the play-offs but can’t be happy with this performance, Tonbridge look likely to finish outside the play-offs after this lacklustre performance.

The game started with Dartford on the front foot & in the 2nd minute Luke Allen former Tonbridge player saw his effort from 15 yards go just past the post.

In the 8th minute Jordan Greenidge from halfway ran through the Dartford defence & from 20 yards saw his shot saved by Ben Dudzinski.

The game drifted for 16 minutes then the last piece of action in the half came when in the 24th minute Dartford scored, Dudzinski’s long ball out saw Sonny Miles & Ben Swift let the ball bounce & Malachi Napa pounced on it & from 15 yards shot past Jon Henly.

The rest of half saw both side’s huff & puff. The half time whistle went & the only positive for Tonbridge was that they were only 1 down while Dartford would have liked to be further in front but both teams performance were poor compared to earlier in the season.

The second half saw Tonbridge on the ascendency as Craig Braham-Barrett on the left crossed into the area for Greenidge but his header went wide.

The game then drifted again with Dartford defending well but not offering up top while Tonbridge had a lot off possession without causing any problems.

Three half chances went Tonbridge’s way when in the 68th minute Luke Wood tried his luck from 20 yards but Dudzinski saved easily. Time was running out for Tonbridge when in the 88th minute Tommy Fagg was put through on the left wing & he went into the area & his shot hit the side netting, then a minute later Devonte Aransibia saw his 20 yard shot saved.

The game was extended for an extra 6 minutes but Tonbridge lacked any urgency & because of this their play-off hopes seemed to be dashed while Dartford can now plan for the play-offs but this was not a performance either manager would have liked.
