After a month of pre-season friendlies, Welling United visit Taunton Town to start their Vanarama National League South campaign.

Having escaped relegation by one place and one point, Welling manager Warren Feeney has been busy rebuilding his squad. Only three players, Ashley Barnes, Chi Ezzenolim and Sam Jackson remain.

It will be a tough first game for the new look Wings. Although they have had a successful pre-season, the team may need time to gel in competitive football and Taunton will come into the game full of confidence.

They won the Southern League Premier South Division by five points, winning their last four league games. They have added to the squad and have signed a number of players with National League South experience.

Feeney will be aware of the challenge, and it will be fascinating to see who he will name in his first starting line-up. It promises to be an intriguing afternoon.
