Surtees to hold Karting event

Motorsport legend John Surtees will host a charity karting event at Kent circuit Buckmore Park in honour of his late son Henry.

Set to take place in October, the day of karting will celebrate the life of Henry, who died in a Formula Two accident at Brands Hatch in July 2009.

The event will be open to all MSA licence holders as well as members of the Club 100 Karting championship aged 16 and over. A maximum of 140 spots are available, with an entry fee of £500.

Prizes on offer for winning drivers include a session in the Mercedes GP simulator and lunch with team boss Ross Brawn, tests in Formula Two and Formula Renault machinery and VIP tickets to next year’s British Grand Prix.
