Stuurman ruled out for season

Kent Cricket have confirmed that Glenton Stuurman’s quad injury will end his overseas spell with the Club in 2026, after a medical scan revealed that the injury that ruled him out of Kent vs. Northamptonshire is worse than first feared.

Stuurman left the field during Kent’s away match at Durham to start the season, and did not feature in Kent’s last match with what was originally thought as a mild strain.

After further tests, it has been revealed that Stuurman’s injury will sideline him for at least the next six weeks, which will end his time at Kent for this Summer.

Kent’s Director of Cricket, Simon Cook, said: “We’re disappointed that Glenton’s time has been cut short this season. He has been a good addition to the dressing room.

“With Matt Quinn very close to match fitness and Mikey Cohen fully available, we still have depth in our seam bowling attack for the near future. Grant Stewart will also be in contention to return next week.”

A statement from the club wished him well: “The Club wishes Glenton a speedy recovery, and he will always be welcome back at Kent.”

Senuran Muthusamy will arrive for his overseas stint from the beginning of the Vitality Blast, and will be available for the whole T20 tournament as well as all Rothesay County Championship fixtures until the end of the season.
