Stockport County 0-0 Bromley

Bromley returned from Edgeley Park with a hard fought point against fourth placed Stockport in front of the BT Sport cameras on Easter Monday evening.

In new manager Andy Woodman’s second game in charge he brought in defender Charlie Fox at left back and returned Frankie Raymond to the centre of midfield, choosing a 4-4-2 formation.

The game started with the home side pressing and looking to get the ball out wide to Southam-Hales on the right wing and test the Bromley debutant.

After an early spell of pressure Bromley settled down with Frankie Raymond forcing a save from Hinchcliffe, shooting from 25yards out. Joe Kizzi had a header cleared from a corner soon after as the game opened up, but both sides gave the ball away far too cheaply in midfield.

Rooney forced two excellent saves from Mark Cousins, parrying his first shot from 20 yards and then tipping the effort from the rebound round the post for a corner.

Michael Cheek had a shot blocked by Jennings at the other end before County finished the half on top with a series of corners that Bromley defended well.

The second half saw Stockport start the brighter again, Croasdale had a powerful shot saved by Cousins, while The Ravens continued to ask question with Chris Bush’s long throws and Raymonds’s set pieces.

Bush also went close after Raymond’s corner was only half cleared, the centre back firing wide from the edge of the area. Ben Williamson had a shot from a tight angle go across trace of goal after good work by Jack Bridge and the striker also had a flicked effort saved by Hinchcliffe after a good ball from Liam Vincent who had replaces the injured Webster.

Stockport finished the stronger though, pressing from set pieces, with Croasdale forcing another good save from Cousins. Bromley dug in and kept The Hatters at bay, securing a creditable point away from home, which kept them in tenth place ahead of their home game with Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday.
