Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division floodlight football takes place in Eltham when Stansfeld host Bearsted on Wednesday evening.

Billy Shinners’ Stansfeld, are in sixteenth place, while their visitors are in eighteenth, four points behind having played four games fewer.
On Saturday, Stansfeld’s game with Snodland Town got off to an explosive start. Kane Phillips opened the scoring for the visitors in the second minute before Chris Alhassan levelled two minutes later. The spectators were probably rubbing their hands expecting a goal-fest. However, the two teams’ defences then took over and there was no further scoring.
Meanwhile, the Bears had a free Saturday. Their most recent game was last Tuesday when they fell to a two-nil home defeat to Whitstable Town. Ashdon Day opened the goal scoring just before the hour mark and Dean Grant added a second eleven minutes later.
Away from home, Bearsted have won two, drawn one and lost nine. Stansfeld, on home turf, have recorded four wins, two draws and six defeats. Neither side are enjoying the best of form. Shinners’ team have won one and drawn one of their last six while the Bears are also having a difficult time having lost five of their last six, their last three without scoring.
This will be their second league encounter this season having started their campaigns with an opening day draw. Eniola Hassan put the Bears ahead in first half stoppage time but Jack Mahon ensured that honours were share when he levelled in the sixth minute of additional time in the second period, after the visitors had played for an hour with ten men.
Both teams will be fighting for the win as they hover precariously over the drop zone so a competitive match can be anticipated.
