After being two down, Stansfeld took full advantage of Punjab United’s defensive frailties to claim a solid home win in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division.

Early on, Chris Alhassan pulled it back to Billy Marsh and his low shot was saved by Punjab’s goalkeeper Owen Bushell. Calvert then fired over after more good work by Alhassan. At the other end Jordan Campbell’s overhit cross was tipped over by Cemal Osman and Stephen Ratcliff’s deep corner found Wayne Bushell totally unmarked but he headed over, much to his dismay.
Adam Wallis arrowed a long range effort for the hosts but Bushell claimed it comfortably before Punjab’s Danny Parish flashed a shot wide of the near post. Parish was again in the thick of it soon after with a snap shot that Cemal Osman saved easily.
In the twenty-first minute, the visitors went ahead. Parish was fouled in the penalty area and Roman Campbell converted from the spot.
Two minutes later, Punjab went further ahead. Alfie Moynes played in Parish and he struck it across the face of goal and inside the far post for a debut goal.
Marsh found Calvert who drew a good save out of Bushell before Alhassan fired over. In the third minute of stoppage time the hosts pulled one back. Calvert brought a difficult pass down superbly before tricking his way through and hitting a shot that took a deflection on its way to the bottom corner.

Parish shot well over after the break before Moynes burst through and Osman came out to make a brilliant save. Lorenzo Lewis then went for a spectacular bicycle kick that was saved brilliantly at point blank range by the Stansfeld goalkeeper.
Calvert fizzed a twenty-five yarder over the bar before Osman was called into action again when keeping out a shot by Jack Hopkins.
Twenty minutes into the second half, the hosts equalised. Calvert delivered a corner, Bushell couldn’t hold it, and Rob Hughes was on hand to bundle it home. Six minutes later, Stansfeld completed the turnaround when Wallis struck it cleanly from twenty-five yards giving Bushell no chance.
Three became four two minutes later when Bushell couldn’t hold on to another Wallis strike and Hughes was again on hand to tuck it away.

Both teams had efforts off target before the match entered stoppage time. Alhassan hit a shot that did not bend enough to fly inside the post but that proved to be a sighter. His next effort from a similar range was on target and although Bushell got a hand to it, he couldn’t keep it out.
