Solihull Moors v Bromley preview

Bromley look to bounce back from two consecutive home defeats on Saturday evening when they travel up to Solihull Moors for their televised National League match on BT Sport.

The Ravens lost 2-0 at home to Stockport County last weekend and then 2-1 at home to Yeovil Town on Tuesday night, losses that saw Neil Smith’s side slip down from third to sixth in the table with 19 points from 13 games.

Michael Cheek scoring the only goal for Bromley.

Solihull go into the game sitting in fourteenth with 16 points from 9 league matches, their league game at Dover Athletic scheduled for Tuesday was called off due to Covid guidelines, but last Saturday The Moors lost 4-1 at second place Sutton Utd.

Manager James Shan will be hoping for a run of games now to allow his team to make up their games in hand and make a bid for the play off spots.

Neil Smith spoke of his disappointment at the team’s performance against Yeovil, which was only the second game played in front of fans this season at Hayes Lane both of which have ended in defeat.

He is hopeful to have a full squad to choose from at the weekend with Taylor Maloney due to return from injury and Chris Bush available again.

When Bromley met Solihull last season The Moors won the home game in October 2-1, while the reverse fixture at Hayes Lane ended 2-2 in February, with The Ravens scoring two late goals to secure a point.

With national TV coverage giving the game extra interest this should be a good closely fought game and a nice bonus for both clubs supporters as no fans are currently allowed into Damson Park as the Area is in Covid Tier 3.
