Solid weekend for Ray
Solid weekend for Ray

Lydd’s Bradley Ray had his best weekend in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship so far last weekend at Oulton Park.

He ended up with three top ten finishes in the weekend’s races, having shown the bikes potential by qualifying on the front row of the grid for the opening race on Saturday.

Such is the level of competition this season a podium finish eluded him in race one, taking a creditable seventh, just ahead of race three winner Josh Brookes.

Row three starts in Sunday’s two outings also produced top ten results in eighth and seventh, despite struggling with arm pump in the closing stages of both races.

Speaking after the weekend, Ray said: “We made good progress throughout the weekend, starting with free practice and qualifying and managed to put the SYNETIQ BMW on the front row of the grid for race one.

“We showed the potential with the pace that we had in the three races, so I’m happy to come away with three top eight finishes. I’m starting to really get to grips with the bike and work in a positive direction, which is getting us closer to those podium positions.

“With some more work and development we can look ahead to Donington Park now in a more positive frame of mind.
