Solid start for Olsen

Alex Olsen had a strong start to the National Superstock Championship season at Oulton Park at the weekend.

Olsen who has not raced in ten months since his crash in the British Superbike Championship. It was a welcome return for the Cooling based racer and it was a solid race weekend for him.

He started from 15th place on the grid for the race on Sunday and set about working his way through the field towards the front. He brought his FHO Racing BMW home in sixth place.

Speaking after a solid weekend, Olsen said: “We started the weekend in a great place, felt comfortable on the bike and I was on the pace straight away.

“We worked through various setups over the weekend trying to find a good direction with the chassis setup so myself and my new crew chief could get an understanding of how the bike reacts. Going into the race we had a good setup and I felt strong.

“My ultimate aim this weekend was just to secure a strong enough finish to come away with points and a full race under my belt. I have not been on the grid since my huge injury nearly 10 months ago. So to finally get a good result and finish the race in 6th was a great feeling”
