Solid BSB debut for Brooks
Solid BSB debut for Brooks

Daniel Brooks had a last minute call up to the British Superbike Championship last weekend at Oulton Park, and all in all he had a very solid debut.

He replaced the injured Eugene McManus in the MasterMac Honda team, a team that he knows well as he rides for them in the Pirelli National Superstock class, so it was a seamless transition to the BSB side. Although it was a totally different bike that he had to get used to.

With two solid race finishes under his belt, with an unfortunate crash thanks to someone else’s incident in the sprint race on Sunday lunchtime, Dan will be really pleased with his first weekend onboard the Honda Superbike.

The final race of the weekend, saw him finish just two places from the points positions, and whilst some of that was down to other riders retirements and crashes, it shows how much progress that Dan made in the three rounds across the weekend.

Commenting after the weekend, a pleased Brooks said: “Overall was a great experience this weekend onboard the Superbike that I can walk away positive after everything I’ve learnt. We knew it was going to be tough jumping into the Superbike class, But what a weekend!

“Thankyou MasterMac Honda & MasterMac Surfacing ltd for the opportunity. And a huge thankyou to all my sponsors!”
