The Invicta Dynamos have continued building for the 2022/23 season with the signing of 29 year old Sniper Tom Soar who switches to Gillingham from the NIHL North 1 team Solihull Barons.

Tom arrives in Kent having spent his formative years in the Nottingham Panthers Junior System. After icing with the Panthers he had spells in the EPL with both the Telford Tigers and Peterborough Phantoms. In the 2014/15 season he signed with the Solihull Barons scoring over 50 goals in his first year. Tom has spent much of his career thus far with the Barons apart from one solitary season with Streatham IHC in 2018/19.

Last term serving as Assistant Captain, Tom played a crucial role in Solihull, scoring 32 goals and 21 assists in just 27 regular season games. He added a further 16pts in the Midlands Cup competition and finished the season leading his team during the playoffs with an additional 4pts.

Having managed to confirm the signing of Tom, Head Coach Karl Lennon said “We are very excited to have Tom join us. We spoke a few times in the off season and he explained that he has been travelling up from the South to play in Solihull for quite some time. Showing great commitment to his hockey. So it was a great fit for both him and of course us to sign him for 22/23. He will bring huge presence and great quality to our forward unit and we cannot wait to see him in a Dynamos jersey. He’s an out and out scorer that puts up great numbers year in and year out amassing +70pts last season in NIHL 1 North. For us this summer it is all about bringing together the right characters in the roster. Just from speaking with Tom I could hear that he will be a great addition. Welcome to the Dynamos Tom!”

Speaking on his switch to the Dynamos Tom said “I’m really looking forward to getting going with the Dynamo’s come the start of the season. It’s a club that’s got history and I’m looking forward to contributing to that come September. Karl has big plans for the club and I can’t wait to get going with my new teammates.”

New signing Tom Soar will wear number 79 for the Invicta Dynamos in 2022/23.
