Snodland lost ground in the race for the play-off places against a rejuvenated Stansfeld who belied their last place in the league with a performance that was probably their best so far this season, while Snodland probably had their worst and were probably thinking of next week’s game against Guernsey.
The game started with Snodland in the ascendency and in the eighth minute Charlie Heatley saw his twenty-yard shot go over the bar but three minutes later they scored when Archie Burford kicked a clearance well into the Stansfeld half and Heatley flicked on for Charlie Sheringham in the area and he blasted it into the net.
In the fourteenth minute a ball into the area found Sheringham who turned and shot from ten yards, but it went over the bar. A minute later Stansfeld had their first shot when Oliver Andrews twenty yards saw his shot go over the bar, in the sixteenth minute Jack Calvert on the right cut in and his shot from twenty yards came back of the post.
In the thirty third minute Stansfeld got a deserved equaliser when Burford came out of his area to clear but it went straight to Adam Willis who from thirty yards shot into an empty net. This shocked Snodland and in the thirty seventh minute should have retaken the lead when James Teodorescu crossed into the area from the left wing and found Sheringham on his own six yards out, but his header went straight at Camel Osman who parried it away when it should have been buried into the back of the net.
Half time arrived and it was even steven’s, but which manager would have been the happier Billy Shiners as his side came back into the game while joint managers Fred Dillon and Luke Jessop would want their side to take control, but time would tell.
The second half saw a see saw game as a Snodland attack in the fifty first minute Heatley in the area saw his fifteen-yard shot saved by Osman then in the fifty-eight-minute Willis saw his shot well saved by Burford.
The game went quiet for a while then in the seventieth minute Snodland came close to taking the lead when a in swinging corner flicked on was cleared off the line by Sam Plant. Nine minutes later Sheringham twenty yards out received the ball, and his shot was saved at the second attempt by Osman.
In the eighty fifth minute Stansfeld took the lead when Christian Ibiteye racing from halfway went into the area where he was fouled and a penalty given, up stepped Wallis who smashed it in the Right middle side of the goal.
Then in the eighty ninth minute they secured the win in bizarre fashion as Glen Bain on the right wing cut in and his cross shot evaded everyone and went into net via the post. The final whistle went and Stansfeld fully deserved the three points and now could look forward to the rest of the season.
