Defender Andy Smith admitted that he and his fellow Gillingham players are hurting after their fifth defeat in a row at the weekend.

Smith was on media duties after arguably one of his best performances of the season, but despite that two late goals cost the Gills a point on the road.
Speaking to the official site after the game, he said: “We are gutted. We were in the game for most of it, but in the second-half of the season we have not managed moments well enough. It has cost us today.
“Today has got absolutely nothing to do with systems, tactics or anything like that. It comes down to two moments, and we are letting the Gaffer down at the minute, I think.
“As a squad, we need to start taking ownership. It hurts at the minute.
“We have to put it right, starting Monday, and go again.
“I feel like we are letting the Gaffer, the staff and the fans down. It’s on us as players. We have to manage the moments better, and that is about it, really.
“We are in a tough place at the minute. We have to find it within ourselves. There is not a lot more that the Gaffer and his staff can be doing. It is just one of them places at the minute.
(The games over Easter) – There are two games in quite a quick turnaround, so there is a chance to put some things right.”
He also understands the frustrations of the supporters who pay their hard earned money to follow the Gills up and down the country.
He added: “I get it. The fans pay so much money to come and watch us week in and week out. With the backing that we had today, I am absolutely gutted for them that we have not managed to get at least a point. It really hurts.”
