As a result of their FA draw on Saturday, Welling United travel to Slough Town on Tuesday evening for their second qualifying round replay.

Although the Wings had shaded the first half, they went behind three minutes before the break when Peter Ojemen swept home after Johnny Goddard’s free kick was deflected into his path.
Lee Martin’s side continued to push in the second period and their persistence paid off when they equalised in stoppage time. Zac Hambury was brought down in the penalty area and Alfie Paxman made no mistake from the spot.
Martin should have Lekan Majoyegbe back in contention for a start following his suspension. He will also be monitoring the fitness of TQ Addy and Luke O’Neill, both of whom were unable to play a part in the first match with Slough.
In the last meeting between the two clubs in Berkshire, back in November 2024. Josh Redfearn and Gene Kennedy put the Wings on the path to victory with goals that gave them a two-nil lead at half time.

Chiori Johnson added a third six minutes after the break but hopes of a calm path to victory were scuppered when Slavi Spasov reduced the deficit seven minutes later. Sam Evans scored Slough’s second midway through the second half and suddenly, Welling had to hang on.
That they did so well that the Rebels’ Dan Bayliss lost his cool and was shown a straight red card for a nasty stamp having been lucky to have been shown a yellow card only a few minutes earlier.
Although the hosts will start as favourites by virtue of them playing in a higher league, Welling’s recent signings have strengthened their team and their youngsters will not be overawed following their good showing on Saturday. The reward for the victors will be an away tie at Bedfont Sports.
