Russell Slade was relieved of his duties after taking training at Sparrows Lane on Monday morning.

Slade oversaw just 16 league matches, winning four, losing four and drawing the other eight.
There has been widespread criticism of Slade’s cautious style and there are rumours of  dressing room  ‎discontent at Swindon on Saturday.
The Addicks were shorn of Ademola Lookman, Jordan Botaka and Josh Magennis due to‎ international call ups, and Ricky Holmes foot injury sidelined the dangerous winger. Nevertheless, Charlton’s performance was abject, Slade describing it as the team’s worst of the season and apologising to the fans.
Former Sint-Truiden manager, Chris O’Loughlin, is the front runner to be the next incumbent in the hot seat. O’Loughlin is thought to already be in the country and has been spotted at The Valley recently.
The club released this statement on Monday evening;
‎”The club has reluctantly made this decision after results this season, which have left the team occupying 15th place. The club wants to give itself the best possible opportunity of achieving its number one priority – winning promotion to the Sky Bet Championship at the earliest opportunity.

The club would like to thank Russell for his tireless work during his time at The Valley, particularly the processes and disciplines he has instilled at the training ground, and wishes him well for the future.”
