Sittingbourne 1-2 Three Bridges
Sittingbourne 1-2 Three Bridges

Sittingbourne had another bad day at the office at home when Three Bridges one place above them in the table went home with the three points.

It started like a dream for them as in the 4th minute they took the lead when Miles Cornwell was released on the right & ran into the area & saw his shot blocked but ricochet to Jordan Wells whose first shot was saved by Kieron Thorpe but came back to him & from 8 yards shot into the net.

Unfortunately the lead lasted six minutes as Three Bridges equalised when Hakeem Adelakun on halfway saw his cross field pass from right to left find Sam McVicar & he ran forward before crossing low for Tony Garrod who from 12 yards swept the ball past Adam Molloy.

Three Bridges now looked the likely team to score & in the 16th minute a ball into the Sittingbourne area found Adelakun who muscled his way past the defenders but shot past the post.

Sittingbourne’s other half chance of the half came in the 38th minute when Wells controlled the ball & passed to Hicham Akhazzan & his shot from 20 yards was deflected but Thorpe saved it.

Disaster then struck in the 45th minute when Three Bridges took the lead when the ball was bouncing around the Sittingbourne & eventually ended up at Ben Godfrey’s feet & from 10 yards he shot beat Molloy.

The early part of the second half should have seen Three Bridges score at least two goals & take the points, in the 49th minute a cross into the area saw Godfrey flick it on for Jamie Brotherton but from 3 yards he kneed the ball over the bar & then in the 54th minute Garrod on halfway pushed the ball forward for Brotherton who ran into the area but his weak shot was easily saved by Molloy.

Three Bridges were now in control & in the 58th minute a corner was cleared at the third attempt but only to Brotherton who saw his shot from 20 yards saved by Molloy.

As the game wore on Sittingbourne made changes but this did not cause many problems for the visitors. Bourne had two late half chances with George Crimmen’s shot going high & wide & then Jono Richardson’s shot saved by Thorpe.

The final whistle went & this was their 11th home defeat of the season while it’s only 10 on the road, something is amiss at home & they need to sort it out soon.
