Singh signs new three year Kent deal

Kent Cricket have announced that homegrown batting all-rounder Ekansh Singh has signed a three-year contract with the Club.

The 19-year-old made his full Kent debut against Somerset in the 2024 Metro Bank One Day Cup, and has made 22 appearances for the county in his career to-date, scoring 640 runs and taking five wickets.

Orpington-born Singh, a product of the Kent Cricket Academy, made his first-class debut against Glamorgan in May this year and scored his current-best of 71 against Derbyshire in September.

In July, he scored a Youth Test century for England against India Under 19s at Chelmsford, scoring 117 from 155 deliveries, with fellow Kent talent Ben Dawkins also scoring a century in that match.

He will be available for the county in all formats around his studies at the University of Durham this Summer, and will be available for selection as much as he can be during term time, before full availability in July & August.

On signing his new Kent deal, Singh said: “I was extremely proud to make my first-class debut for my boyhood club this year but this is just the start for me.

“I hope to learn a lot from the more experienced guys here as I work to secure a first-team place in all formats going forward.”

Kent’s Director of Cricket, Simon Cook, said: “We’re in a great position now where we have multiple young homegrown talents making the step up to competitive first-team cricket.

“Ekansh is a gifted young player with great technique in the way he goes about his innings – he has the potential to be a big player for us in the future, as well as making contributions now.”
