Kent Cricket have this morning announced that homegrown right-arm seamer Jas Singh has signed an extension to his first-team contract, which will now run until at least the end of the 2027 season.

A product of the Kent Cricket Academy, the 23-year-old made his Kent debut during the 169th Canterbury Cricket Week back in 2021, after multiple first-team players were ruled out due to COVID-19 isolation protocols.
Aged 18 at the time, Singh took four wickets in his first first-team appearance including the wicket of Australia’s Travis Head. He signed his first full-time professional contract ahead of the 2022 season.
Overall, Singh has taken 47 wickets for Kent’s first-team to-date in 32 appearances, including 4/35 against Northamptonshire at the beginning of the 2025 Rothesay County Championship.
After an ankle injury ruled him out from April until the end of this Summer, he is now fully back on the road to recovery in-time for 2026.
On extending his Kent contract, Singh said: “I feel like I’ve learnt a lot since Adam Hollioake arrived here and I’m excited to be working with him for at least another two years.
“My injury came just as I was starting to getting into a good rhythm with my bowling, but I’ve been working hard to get fit again.
“During the Winter I’ll continue to work to become the best bowler that I can be, to try and nail down my own first-team place going forward.”
Kent’s Director of Cricket, Simon Cook, said: “Jas showed many glimpses of his high potential last season before his unfortunate injury.
“He is a tall, sturdy bowler that generates pace and bounce off the surface and he will only continue to improve as he earns more first-team opportunities.
“We hope that Jas will be just one of multiple homegrown Kent seamers in the coming years.”
