Bromley begin their second League Two campaign with a trip to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday afternoon, looking to improve on an impressive debut season in the Football League that saw The Ravens finish eleventh only four points off the play-offs.

Pre-season has seen Manager Andy Woodman bring in midfielders Mitchell Pinnock & Will Hondermarck from Northampton Town, centre back Kyle Cameron from Notts County and attacking midfielder Ben Krauhaus back on loan from Brentford.
The squad has also been boosted by the return of striker Marcus Dinanga from a long term injury lay off, but they have lost Carl Jenkinson who was carried off against Millwall last weekend. Young players Soul Kader & Nathan Paul-Lavally have missed recent friendly games, but Marcis Ifill has impressed at right wing back.
Michael Cheek now appears to be staying after much speculation earlier in July and he will again be key to the teams goal threat. Keeper Grant Smith now has competition from Sam Long and Dillon Addai who signed last weekend after spending pre-season with the club.
Results in the warm up games have seen Bromley draw 2-2 with Crystal Palace & beat Chelsea’s Under 21 side 2-1, defeat Tottenham Hotspur Under 21s 5-2 and lost 2-1 to a full strength Millwall team. On a training camp in Portugal The Ravens played two League Ones sides, losing 2-1 to Rotherham Utd and winning 4-3 against Lincoln City.
The club announced the squad numbers for the season this week, with a couple of gaps that may be filled in the remaining weeks of the transfer window either by loan signings or trialists.
Shrewsbury begin life back in League Two after relegation from League One at the end of last season after a difficult campaign that saw them finish with 33 points having had three different managers.
Manager Michael Appleton has added a number of new players to his squad, most recently winger Anthony Scully from Portsmouth and goalkeeper Elyh Harrison on loan from Manchester Utd as The Shrews look to bounce back at the first opportunity. Pre-season games have seen just one loss, 5-2 to Bolton Wanderers and a draw with Burnley 2-2. With four wins over Telford, Kidderminster, Leamington & Stoke City.
The teams have never met before in any competition, Shrewsbury having spent all but a couple of seasons in the Football League since 1950, while Bromley only achieved EFL status in 2024. Kick off at The New Meadow is at 3pm and the game is also being shown live on Sky Plus.
