Second summer signing for Gills

Gillingham have made their second summer signing this afternoon with the arrival of Vadaine Oliver.

Oliver has jointed the club from Northampton Town. While at Northampton he scored eight goals for Keith Curle’s side.

The 28-year-old has now joined Ryan Jackson as Steve Evans looks to shape his squad for the 2020/21 season.

Speaking to the clubs official website about joining the club, Oliver said: “

“I am buzzing to get it over the line. I had a few offers from League 1 clubs but as soon as I came down and spoke to the Manager and heard his plans for the club, it was a no brainer for me.

“As a Footballer you want to be successful and be in a team that is looking for that big push. To take me to that next level I thought it was the right decision.

Assistant Manager Paul Raynor was equally delighted to have got his man having helped Northampton to promotion back to League One.

He said: “I believe he will be a valuable asset. He is a powerful striker, mobile and aggressive, a real handful for any defence.

“His wholehearted approach will be loved by Gills fans.
