On Monday night SC Thamesmead host Bridon Ropes in the Presence & Co. Southern Counties East Football League First Division as both teams start their new campaigns.

Just four points separated the two clubs in last season’s final table with Bridon Ropes finishing in tenth place and the Acre in thirteenth.
At home, the Acre won five, drew nine and lost three whilst on the road Bridon Ropes claimed five wins, and six draws, tasting defeat on six occasions.
When the two teams met in Charlton last September the Ropes secured a ‘come from behind’ victory. Raphael President put Thamesmead ahead in the seventeenth minute and they held the lead at half time. Just shy of the hour mark, Pat Ward equalised and Patrick Da Lomba scored a seventy-third minute winner.
In the return match, the spoils were shared in a one all draw. Once again, the Acre scored first with Deshan Carty finding the net three minutes into the second period however Paris Jackson ensured that the spoils were shared when scoring with eighteen minutes remaining.
Both teams will be unveiling their new signings to their supporters and will be looking to get off to a strong opening.
