Sarr to keep his place?

Summer signing, Mark Marshall, is set to start training again on Thursday.

It has been a frustrating start to his Valley career for the former Bradford winger. He had a lengthy spell on the sidelines after picking up a knee injury in a pre-season game at Stevenage.

After coming on for his debut at Fleetwood, Marshall ‎suffered a thigh muscle spasm in training, which ruled him out of the Doncaster, Oxford and Bradford games.

Here is what Karl Robinson had to say about Marshall’s progress:

“Marshy (Marshall) is going to train on Thursday – so he should be back for selection.

The lads trained Monday and Tuesday, we’ll pick the best team we feel is physically ready to cope with AFC Wimbledon.”

‎If he suffers no reaction, Marshall is likely to be on the bench on Saturday.

Robinson’s words were interesting, and maybe gave a clue to Saturday’s team, “……………we’ll pick the best team we feel is physically ready to cope with AFC Wimbledon.”

Obviously the manager will need to check on his players’ fitness, but the Wombles do play a fairly direct style.

Diminutive left-back, Jay Dasilva, may be targeted by Neal Ardley’s team. Robinson may feel that Naby Sarr’s greater physical presence would be a better option for this game.‎
